Sir Robert Ingersall said that "Health is given by god to almost all of mankind but staying healthy is not for everyone...
It's a CHOICE"
I would have to say that i myself was never a health conscious person. I have pretty much done all the unhealthy stuff under the sun but off late i have had this sudden realization.. it's like "one morning i wake up and think to my self... What the hell am i doing to my body?"
From that day on i have been actually doin a lot of research online about staying healthy. I personally have become a believer of prevention is actually better than cure... Why wait for a disease and then struggle to battle with it? Why not prevent it from the beginning it self? But the main question is that why are there so many people suffering from diabetes, hypertension, cancer? Is it something fundamentally unpreventable about these diseases? I really don't think so... I recently visited my grandmother who is warded in the hospital and the sight of so many ill people struggling to battle with whatever problem they are there for is sooooo depressing... i have been speaking too many friends about this and mostly they tell me is that " well, those days there was not as much awareness of disease prevention or as many things that you can do to prevent a disease"... Well, that sounded acceptable to me...
Along the course of my research (which is far from over) i have been discovering not 100's but maybe 1000's of ways to stay healthy.. but of all this you know what i realised... almost everything works perfectly but not everything is PRACTICAL... it requires us to get out of our comfort zone to achieve something... well, I thought to my self "there you have it !! This is why we give up after a while or don't even bother trying at all"
I realize that getting someone(i can safely speak for my self) to get out of the comfort zone and push ourselves to something like this is really difficult. It is different if we are required to get out of that comfort zone to make more money, impress our bosses, get something we really want and etc.... WHY? doing all that makes a difference immediately... We get more money, get a promotion... you know stuff like that... But the health part is not like that.. We don't have a problem with our health.. Why do all the extra things??... Sadly, this is the normal mindset of a person. We always fail to look ahead and see what will it be like if we suffer a stroke or heart attack.. not only us but our family will suffer as well... RIGHT??
I believe that at some point in time you would have encountered one of these following situations - heard or seen it happening to a friend, family or perhaps your self:
1) When asked to exercise - We always say " No Time, Busy with work, Too tired after work and lots more" but we spend hours sitting in front of the TV
2) When asked to eat healthy food - We always say that we can only eat what is accessible nearby our work place
3) When asked to buy health products or supplements - We always say "No money, Too Expensive" but the next moment we buy an iPad or iPhone... :))
So my dear friends, my team of buddies and I have decided to continue our research on How to Stay Healthy The Practical Way. We are trying our best to find ways that we can stay healthy without having to really go out of the way... I hope we succeed.. This will really change the lives of so so so many people around us..
Till our next post in this Section, stay tuned guys.. Adios
