The Surprising Benefits of Lemon

Hi Guys..

Check out this article below:

The surprising benefits of lemon! ================================
Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C. Charles Street Baltimore , MD 1201. This is the latest in medicine, effective for cancer!
Read carefully & you be the judge. Lemon(Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger thanchemotherapyWhy do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as an anti microbialspectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders. The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells. Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C. List Of Cancer Fighting Fruits

Hi Guys..

Today I have listed a few excellent cancer fighting Fruits... Check it out..

Avocados are rich in glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that attacks free radicals in the body by blocking intestinal absorption of certain fats. They also supply even more potassium than bananas and are a strong source of beta-carotene. Scientists believe that avocados may also be useful in treating viral hepatitis (a cause of liver cancer), as well as other sources of liver damage.

Figs apparently have a derivative of benzaldehyde. It has been reported that investigators at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research in Tokyo say benzaldehyde is highly effective at shrinking tumors. In addition, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says figs, which contain vitamins A and C, and calcium, magnesium and potassium, may curtail appetite and improve weight-loss efforts. Fig juice is also a potent bacteria killer in test-tube studies.

Grapefruits, like oranges and other citrus fruits, contain monoterpenes, believed to help prevent cancer by sweeping carcinogens out of the body. Some studies show that grapefruit may inhibit the proliferation of breast-cancer cells in vitro. They also contains vitamin C, beta-carotene, and folic acid.

Grapes, red grapes contain bioflavonoids, powerful antioxidants that work as cancer preventives. Grapes are also a rich source of resveratrol, which inhibits the enzymes that can stimulate cancer-cell growth and suppress immune response. They also contain ellagic acid, a compound that blocks enzymes that are necessary for cancer cells–this appears to help slow the growth of tumors.

Oranges and lemons contain Iimonene which stimulates cancer-killing immune cells (lymphocytes, e.g.) that may also break down cancer-causing substances.

Papayas have vitamin C that works as an antioxidant and may also reduce absorption of cancer-causing nitrosamines from the soil or processed foods. Papaya contains folacin (also known as folic acid), which has been shown to minimize cervical dysplasia and certain cancers.

Raspberries contain many vitamins, minerals, plant compounds and antioxidants known as anthocyanins that may protect against cancer. According to a recent research study reported by Cancer Research (2001;61:6112-6119) rats fed diets of 5 percent to 10 percent black raspberries saw the number of esophageal tumors decrease by 43 percent to 62 percent. Research reported in the journal Nutrition and Cancer in May 2002 shows black raspberries may also thwart colon cancer. Black raspberries are rich in antioxidants, thought to have even more cancer-preventing properties than blueberries and strawberries.

Tomatoes contain lycopene, an antioxidant that attacks roaming oxygen molecules, known as free radicals, that are suspected of triggering cancer. It appears that the hotter the weather, the more lycopene tomatoes produce. They also have vitamin C, an antioxidant which can prevent cellular damage that leads to cancer. Watermelons, carrots, and red peppers also contain these substances, but in lesser quantities. It is concentrated by cooking tomatoes. Scientists in Israel have shown that lycopene can kill mouth cancer cells. An increased intake of lycopene has already been linked to a reduced risk of breast, prostate, pancreas and colorectal cancer. (Note: Recent studies indicate that for proper absorption, the body also needs some oil along with lycopene.

Alert: Sexually Active Women Are At Higher Risk of Breast Cancer!!!

Hi guys...

I don't think this is the best news that you wanna get today but apparently it's true!!!!

Well according to Priscilla Furth M.D Professor of Oncology and Medicine from Georgetown Lombardi, a recent study has linked Aromatase. This is an Enzyme which is present in sexually matured women. This enzyme increases the secretion of Estrogen which promotes the formation of Cancer Cells. The rate of Aromatase to be present  in a woman's breast goes in proportion with her sexual activeness.

Well, according to a group of scholars who are undertaking this study with Priscilla, the discovery of how Aromatase can interact with a woman's body to promote cancer has brought to bigger openings in aiding cancer prevention and cure.. How?? Well, with this knowledge they claim that they can create Aromatase inhibitors that will slow down its "working capacity" and thus reduce the secretion of estrogen.

As for me, i am pretty dumbfounded by this fact... So what do we do now??.. Reduce sexual activity?? Well it's up to us to ponder about this fact....

Feel free to tell me what you think... But let us keep in mind that this is just one of the many factors that lead to Breast Cancer... Basically every single one of us have to pay more attention to our breast care. After all it's one of our greatest assets right??

That's all for now guys.. till our next post.. adios..

Benefits of Barley

Hi guys,
Barley, whose Latin name is "hordeum vulgare" , has been cultivated for more than 10,000 years. Since ancient times, barley has been used for healing purposes and has been known to the Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. Athletes in Greece and Rome in those days were known to eat barley bread to give them strength.

BARLEY water was always a regular drink when we were still living at home. Whenever we had to go for a medical exam that included a urine test, my mum would make us drink barley water a day before it to make sure we got a positive result!

Better yet, regular intake of it helps prevent heart disease. It's high in fibre which feeds the friendly bacteria in the colon and helps speed up the transit of fecal matter in it. In this way it helps prevent haemorrhoids and colon cancer. The propionic acid and beta glucan from barley's insoluble fibre also help lower cholesterol and prevent the formation of gallstones.
Eating barley regularly is a preventive step against heart disease as, besides the fibre content, it is also high in niacin, a B vitamin good for lowering cholesterol.

Diabetics should eat more barley as the fibre will prevent blood sugar levels from rising too high. It also provides relief from constipation or diarrhoea for those suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Barley is rich in selenium which prevents cancer and relieves symptoms of asthma and arthritis. It is a good source of manganese, copper and phosphorous.

Well that's all for today guys.. till our next post.. adios..

A New Medical Breakthrough for Breast Cancer Being Developed

Hi Guys,

Below is an article about a medical breakthrough that will be amazing for all women. Read on and lets all hope that one day this will be available to aid those battling with breast cancer:-

Breast cancer gel shrinks tumours... and without tablets' unpleasant side-effects

Last updated at 11:27 PM on 5th August 2011

A breast cancer gel is being developed to shrink tumours in a development that could revolutionise treatment of the disease.
The treatment is rubbed on to the skin daily and has far fewer unpleasant side-effects than the tablet tamoxifen  – the most commonly used drug in Britain.
But it contains the same active ingredient, and concentrates it in the breast rather than dispersing it around the entire body like pills do.
Researcher Professor Seema Khan, who is testing the gel in the U.S., said: We think it may be a very good solution for women who are reluctant to take tamoxifen.
‘Delivery through the skin means there will be very little drug circulating through the bloodstream and the body.’
If the trials are successful then the treatment – called afimoxifene – could be available to British patients in  the next three to four years.
Around 130 UK women  are diagnosed with breast  cancer every day – or 48,000  a year.
Many of them are prescribed tamoxifen to shrink their tumours before surgery or to lower the risk of the cancer returning afterwards.
The drug blocks the receptors in the breast that accept the hormone oestrogen, which is responsible for causing many types of the disease.
Recent studies show that women who take tam- oxifen for five years have far better long-term survival prospects.

Tamoxifen was developed in the UK in the 1960s and has been credited with helping reduce breast cancer deaths by 30 per cent.
But up to half of women on the drug quit before the  five years are up because  of unpleasant side-effects, which commonly include  nausea, hot flushes and weight gain.
The medicine has also been linked in rare cases to blood clots that can cause strokes and womb cancer. And it can  adversely interact with  other cancer drugs and the blood-thinning treatment warfarin.
Many women are reluctant to take Tamoxifen due to the unpleasant side effects
Many women are reluctant to take Tamoxifen due to the unpleasant side effects

Tamoxifen is taken orally then broken down by the liver and circulated around the body before it reaches the breast tissue.
However afimoxifene is applied to the skin over the tumour, where it seeps into the affected cells and stays.
Professor Khan, of Northwestern University near Chicago, said: ‘It is a way to minimise exposure to the rest of the body and concentrate the drug where it is needed.’
It is hoped afimoxifene will encourage more women to stay on the treatment for longer and so boost their chances of survival.
The current trial was set up after a study in France on 55 women showed rubbing the active ingredient of tamoxifen on the skin was just as good as tablets at slowing cancer-  tissue growth.
Women on the gel therapy had up to nine times less potentially toxic medicine in their bloodstream too.
Volunteers on the U.S. programme will either take tamoxifen tablets or use the gel for six weeks before their scheduled cancer surgery to see how much their tumours shrink by.
UK cancer charities gave  the research a cautious  welcome.
Dr Susie Jennings of Breakthrough Breast  Cancer said: ‘It’s exciting to see alternative methods of delivering treatment being explored.
‘But it will be some time before we know if it could be used safely and effectively.’
And Dr Kat Arney of Cancer Research UK said ‘It’s not clear whether this gel can deliver the benefits of the drug with fewer side effects.
‘We’ll have to wait and see what the trial results show.

Simple Yet Effective Natural Home Remedy for Influenza

Hi Guys,

Today I am gonna give you a few simple home remedies for flu (Influenza). Just something to note about natural remedies.. Why do we see it so commonly spoken about these days?.. Well, simply because its so much better than pharmaceutical medicines as it is chemical free (PLS NOTE - ALTHOUGH MUCH BETTER, CERTAIN PROBLEMS CAN ONLY BE CURED WITH PHARMACEUTICAL MEDICINES. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE REPLACING YOUR MEDICATIONS WITH ALTERNATIVE ONES)

The only set back in natural treatments is that it may not work as fast as chemical medicines and takes a little time to prepare. These factors have actually made very unpopular among the general population. People find it much easier to just pop a pill than to spend some time mixing stuff from scratch. Anyway to those of you who are willing to go that extra mile to stay healthy, these remedies might come in handy to you.

1) Ginger Tea:- Placing 2-3 slices of ginger and boiling it with tea gives you a delicious cup of ginger tea. Consume this (without milk) a few times a day for a good relieve. As for sugar, it is better to replace with 1 teaspoon of honey.

2) Honey Pepper Concoction - Prepare a concoction of long pepper, honey and lemon juice. Consume this 3 times daily until flu subsides.

3) Basil Tea:- Boil some basil leaves, ginger and tea. Consume it on a regular basis. You can keep it warm in a thermos and bring it along wherever you go.

4) Ginger Juice:- Mix a rather large amount of ginger juice, fenugreek and honey. Bring it to a boil until it reduces to 1/3 of the original quantity. Consume this concoction 2 times a day and this is very helpful to fight the flu virus.

5) Inhaling Steam:- This remedy is one of my personal favourites. Why.. This is because it is easy to do and effective. All you need to do is to get a bowl of really hot boiling water. Put in any form of mentholated oil into the bowl (I use Vicks Vaparub). Cover your self with a blanket (Make sure your whole body is tucked in) and inhale that steam that comes out of the bowl. This is also a good remedy if you are have a fever.

Well here you go guys... a few simple remedies you can try at home.. Remember one thing.. A flu (or any other sickness) can be treated the fastest at its beginning stages... Only you know yourself the best.. The moment you realize you are catching a flu, act immediately.. Once worsened it will take longer to heal and will lead you to fever, sore throats etc..

That's all for now.. till our next post.. adios..

Exercising Can Do More Than Just Keeping You Fit...

Hi Guys,

We often talk about exercising as a way to keep fit and lose weight.. Well after reading the article below, you will realize that exercising can do MORE than just that.. Read on guys... Article taken from www.dailymail.co.uk ..

Exercise is a ‘wonder drug’ for cancer survivors and may prevent the disease returning, it was suggested yesterday. Physical activity could also benefit those undergoing treatment for cancer, said Macmillan Cancer Support. It urges doctors to prescribe exercise rather than telling patients to rest, as in the past.

A review of more than 60 studies for the charity found that being active during treatment does not worsen fatigue and has positive effects on mood and wellbeing.

Once treatment has finished, exercise can reduce the impact of side effects, such as swelling, anxiety, depression, fatigue, impaired mobility and changes to weight.

The research also showed exercise has an impact on preventing recurrence of a few specific cancers.

For example, women with breast cancer who exercise for 150 minutes a week at moderate intensity have more than a 40 per cent lower risk of dying and recurrence of disease compared to women who are active for less than one hour a week.

Moderate exercise includes very brisk walking, heavy cleaning – such as washing windows, vacuuming and mopping – mowing the lawn, cycling and badminton.

Macmillan Cancer Support found that more than half of GPs, practice nurses, oncologists and cancer nurses did not speak to their patients about the possible benefits of exercise, or only spoke to a few of them.

The charity’s chief medical officer Jane Maher said: ‘If physical exercise were a drug, it would be hitting the headlines.

‘There really needs to be a cultural change so that health professionals see physical activity as an integral part of cancer aftercare, not just an optional add-on.’

There you go guys... if exercising can lower the rate for cancer recurrence, imagine what it can do for a person with no history of cancer??
Well guys, that's all for now... Till our next post.. adios..

6 Cancer Fighting Superfood

Hi Guys,

Today's post is going to be about food that contain cancer fighting abilities.. Read on guys..

To reduce your risk of cancer, look no further than your fridge. "All the studies on cancer and nutrition point to eating plant-based foods for their phytonutrients and other special compounds," says Richard Béliveau, PhD, chair in the prevention and treatment of cancer at the University of Québec at Montreal and author of Foods to Fight Cancer.

Aim for five to nine daily servings of all kinds of fruits and vegetables—especially these six superstars.

Broccoli
All cruciferous veggies (think cauliflower, cabbage, kale) contain cancer-fighting properties, but broccoli is the only one with a sizable amount of sulforaphane, a particularly potent compound that boosts the body's protective enzymes and flushes out cancer-causing chemicals, says Jed Fahey, ScD. A recent University of Michigan study on mice found that sulforaphane also targets cancer stem cells—those that aid in tumor growth.

Helps fight: breast, liver, lung, prostate, skin, stomach, and bladder cancers

Your Rx: The more broccoli, the better, research suggests—so add it wherever you can, from salads to omelets to the top of your pizza.

Berries
All berries are packed with cancer-fighting phytonutrients. But black raspberries, in particular, contain very high concentrations of phytochemicals called anthocyanins, which slow down the growth of premalignant cells and keep new blood vessels from forming (and potentially feeding a cancerous tumor), according to Gary D. Stoner, PhD, a professor of internal medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Helps fight: colon, esophageal, oral, and skin cancers

Your Rx: Stoner uses a concentrated berry powder in his studies but says a half-cup serving of berries a day may help your health, too.

Tomatoes
This juicy fruit is the best dietary source of lycopene, a carotenoid that gives tomatoes their red hue, Béliveau says. And that's good news, because lycopene was found to stop endometrial cancer cell growth in a study in Nutrition and Cancer. Endometrial cancer causes nearly 8,000 deaths a year.

Helps fight: endometrial, lung, prostate, and stomach cancers

Your Rx: The biggest benefits come from cooked tomatoes (think pasta sauce!), since the heating process increases the amount of lycopene your body is able to absorb.

Walnuts
Their phytosterols (cholesterol-like molecules found in plants) have been shown to block estrogen receptors in breast cancer cells, possibly slowing the cells' growth, says Elaine Hardman, PhD, associate professor at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia.

Helps fight: breast and prostate cancers

Your Rx: Munching on an ounce of walnuts a day may yield the best benefits, Hardman's research found.

Garlic
Phytochemicals in garlic have been found to halt the formation of nitrosamines, carcinogens formed in the stomach (and in the intestines, in certain conditions) when you consume nitrates, a common food preservative, Béliveau says. In fact, the Iowa Women's Health Study found that women with the highest amounts of garlic in their diets had a 50 percent lower risk of certain colon cancers than women who ate the least.

Helps fight: breast, colon, esophageal, and stomach cancers

Your Rx: Chop a clove of fresh, crushed garlic (crushing helps release beneficial enzymes), and sprinkle it into that lycopene-rich tomato sauce while it simmers.

Beans
A study out of Michigan State University found that black and navy beans significantly reduced colon cancer incidence in rats, in part because a diet rich in the legumes increased levels of the fatty acid butyrate, which in high concentrations has protective effects against cancer growth. Another study, in the journal Crop Science, found dried beans particularly effective in preventing breast cancer in rats.

Helps fight: breast and colon cancers

Your Rx: Add a serving—a half-cup—of legumes a few times a week (either from a can or dry beans that've been soaked and cooked) to your usual rotation of greens or other veggies.

Well that's all for today.. till our next post.. adios...

Stroke Now Has A New Indicator... Check it out!!

Hi Guys,

I received this in an email and wanted to share it with all of you. Reading this might save someone's life. If you can, do pass this around to all your friends.

STROKE: Remember the 1st Three Letters..... S. T. R.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) ....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.

Jane's husband called l! ater telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this.
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *
Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)

(i.e. It is sunny out today.)

R
*Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency numberimmediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other
that is also an indication of a stroke.

Well guys, I hope that all of you would have learnt something very valuable today...

That's all for now..till our next post..adios..

Taller people at higher risk of cancer.. Is this for REAL?? Check it out..

Hi guys,

Today I found an interesting article from BBC News Online about something which kinda made me a little puzzled. Apparently, studies have revealed that taller people (more than 5 ft 9) are at higher risk in getting 10 different cancer... Well below is the excerpt of the article for you guys to read...

Tall people 'more likely to develop cancer

University of Oxford researchers.
For every four inches (10cm) above five feet a person was, the researchers said they had a 16% increased cancer risk.
The study of more than one million women, published in The Lancet Oncology, suggested chemicals that control growth might also affect tumours.
Cancer Research UK said tall people should not be alarmed by the findings.
The study followed 1.3 million middle-aged women in the UK between 1996 and 2001.
It linked 10 cancers to height - colon, rectal, malignant melanoma, breast, endometrial (uterus), ovarian, kidney, lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and leukaemia.
Those in the tallest group, over 5ft 9in, were 37% more likely to have developed a tumour than those in the shortest group, under 5ft.
Although the study looked only at women, the researchers said the height link was also present in men.
They combined 10 other research studies which showed a similar link in men.
Reason unknown
Dr Jane Green, lead researcher and from the University of Oxford, told the BBC: "Obviously height itself cannot affect cancer, but it may be a marker for something else."
Higher levels of growth factors could do two things. They could result in more cells - taller people are made of more stuff so there are more cells which could mutate and become tumours. Alternatively, they could increase the rate of cell division and turnover, increasing the risk of cancer.
But as Dr Green admitted: "The point is we don't know."
Cancer Research UK's Sara Hiom said: "Tall people need not be alarmed by these results. Most people are not a lot taller, or shorter, than average, and their height will only have a small effect on their individual cancer risk."
Dr Caitlin Palframan, policy manager at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: "The big question is why this connection exists. If we can unravel why height affects the risk of cancer it will lead us closer to understanding how some cancers develop."
The researchers suggested that height could also have contributed to increasing cancer incidence. In Europe, average height is thought to have increased by around 1cm every decade during the 20th Century.
They argued that the height increase in that time could have resulted in a 10-15% more cancers than if heights had remained the same

Cancer rates

  • Shortest (under 5ft) - 7.5 cancers per 1,000 women per year
  • Average (5ft 3in) - 8.3 cancers per 1,000 women per year
  • Tallest (over 5ft 9in) - 10 cancers per 1,000 women per year

Well that's all for now guys... till our next post.. adios..
