I am sure that all of you know the existence of green tea. On the whole, it is most popularly consumed among the Chinese and Japanese cultures. Only off late we have heard others consuming them. Now what does green tea have that makes it a good detox product?

A wonderful component in Green Tea leaves is CATECHIN POLYPHENOLS. This is an excellent toxin cleanser. There are many sub components of CATECHIN POLYPHENOLS which are beneficial for health but green tea has the most powerful sub component that is EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate). The EGCG in green tea leaves is the one responsible for a prefect body detox.

EGCG plays an important role in detecting excessive toxin in our body and removes it via our Kidneys and Bladder.

So guys... you see such a simple product which is easily accessible from any supermarket, hypermarket, medical store or any tea merchant can do wonders for us. In addition to this, it is extremely affordable, very simple to prepare, tastes great plus it's caffeine level is only 1/4 the amount we get in black tea or coffee which makes it extremely good to consume on a regular basis..... I think this is a practical way to detox our body.. don't you??

By consuming green tea, we not only get a chance to detox but can enjoy a lot more benefits. Here are a few extra benefits we get by consuming green tea:

1) Weight Loss - It's a good product for those who want to shed some extra weight off. Green Tea helps in increasing our body's natural metabolism rate hence burns off more fat than usual.

2) Prevents Cancer and Heart Diseases(Atherosclerosis) - The EGCG is an extremely good antioxidant which prevents cancer and heart diseases. If you are doubting this, think of this. If you do some research, you will find that the Chinese and Japanese have the lowest rates of Cancer and Heart Diseases than anyone else in the world... WHY?? That's because drinking green tea or equivalent is a part of their daily routine. At any point in time or with what ever food they consume, it is accompanied by Green Tea ( or Chinese Tea).

3) Reduces Cholesterol Levels - The EGCG actually helps in reducing LDL (Bad Cholesterol) in our body thus increasing HDL (Good Cholesterol)

4) Reduces Tooth Decay - Green Tea is said to contain small amounts of Flouride which is good is destroying bacteria that cause tooth decay.

5) Induces Healthier and Radiant Skin - This is something that may interest women.. :) EGCG in green tea helps rejuvenate dying skin cells on the outer most layer hence keeps in healthier, smoother and reactivated. Not only this, it helps prevent formation of wrinkles, psoriasis, ulcers and etc.

P/S: - An additional beauty tip for ladies and men as well... Remove leaves from the tea bag after being used and apply it over your face for approximately 15 minutes a day. Then wash it off with PLAIN WATER. DO NOT USE ANY SOAP and you will see a more radiant looking skin in just 2 weeks... :)

6) Keeps Body Joints Healthy - EGCG is an extremely good anti-inflammatory agent. It has helped people around the world reduce joint pains and helped those with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and bursitis feel a lot better.

8) Protects Liver - Studies have shown that those especially men who consume 4 to 5 glasses of green tea a day has lesser chances of developing any liver related diseases. EGCG also helps protect the liver from toxic substances such as alcohol..... CAUTION - This does not mean that one can drink green tea and consume as much alcohol as they want... Anything in excess will damage your body!!!!

To those of you who already drink it BRAVO to you.... To those of who have not yet, please do make it a practice.... It's easy to get, Affordable, Easy to prepare and taste great....

Now, here are some important Green Tea preparation Tips... If we wanna rip the benefits we got to do it right... RIGHT?

1) Use fresh cool water to boil

2) Do not boil until water is extremely hot. Green Tea leaves are very delicate. If you are using a boiler, turn it off before it stops by it self... In other words 3/4 boiled water is the best for steeping green tea

3) Do not Steep green tea in an aluminium or plastic container. These materials are reactive and will only add toxic materials to your tea and leave an off taste to the tea. Instead you may want to use stainless steel, porcelain or China wear.

4) If you are concerned about the caffeine content (although very low), you may pour off the 1st batch of tea as most of the caffeine will be there.

5) Steeping the tea for 2 to 4 minutes is sufficient to get maximum benefits from it.

6) And last but not least drinking 4 to 5 glasses a day is sufficient. Remember that anything good for health will in turn become your body's enemy if taken in excess!!!

Well that's all for today guys... till our next post... adios...
